Electy is a contribution checkout and a donor passport. Electy is not a political committee, does not solicit contributions on its own behalf, and never holds contribution funds. Each campaign or committee on Electy is the merchant of record for its own contributions. Contributions are processed by our bank partner and settle into the committee's own bank account.
By contributing you certify that the contribution is made from your own funds and is not reimbursed by anyone; that you are at least eighteen years old; that you are a United States citizen or lawfully admitted permanent resident; that you are not a federal contractor; and that you are paying with your own personal card or bank account, not one belonging to a corporation, business, or another person.
Contribution limits apply per election and per race and are shown on each contribution page. Federal law requires committees to use best efforts to collect and report name, address, occupation and employer for individuals whose contributions exceed $200 in an election cycle; California requires this at $100. A committee may refund, redesignate or reattribute a contribution that exceeds a limit, in line with the rules that apply to it.
The processing fee is shown before you confirm. Where offered, you may choose to add an amount to help cover processing; the treatment of that amount follows the rules of the committee's jurisdiction.
Monthly giving is off by default and starts only if you switch it on. Every receipt carries a one click cancel link, and you can cancel from your passport at any time.
Political contributions are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes.
